Re: Meet the New Boss: Stewart Johnston
I'm glad this was done relatively early. I was afraid it might drag into the middle of the season. Obviously, I have no clue whether or not he is the right person for the job, but I am hoping he is and can be a long term commissioner. Stability is important. On his appearance on Sports Cage, Glen S...
Re: BC Lions
According to 3DN, the Lions have lost their first and 2nd round draft picks by going nearly 350k over the salary cap in 2024. Crime doesn't pay!!!! Their picks will now go Calgary due to their last place finish, but will be taken at the end of each round https://3downnation.com/2025/03/28/b-c-lions...

Re: Edmonton Elks
According to 3 Down Nation, Edmonton GM Ed Hervey stated he doesn't know of any Super Stars in the CFL. I find that an unorthodox method to sell the league, especially in Edmonton where the stands have been empty for several seasons. Laughable comments by Hervey who has been spending like a drunken...

Re: 2025 Coaching Staff
What a solid staff. The 2 new additions with Marshall, who coached a very good D Line in Ottawa last year & Shivers who has had success as a CFL DC are great moves. Going to be a great 2025 season for the Argos. What? You don't see these as same old same old GOB hirings? I see them as very good...

He could be the type of person who likes the collaborative approach.ArgoGabe22 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 21, 2025 5:56 pm I still find it odd that they won't give the DC keys fully to Eiben or to anyone for that matter.

Re: 2025 Coaching Staff
I like it, getting Shivers and Marshall very astute moves given their experience.
Overall a very good coaching staff once again!

Re: Hogan: Who Should Become the Next All-time Argo?
Thanks for the clarification Mike.
I’m glad Pete Martin got to see that he would be honoured before he passed away.
All three gentlemen are very deserving of this honour.

Re: Hogan: Who Should Become the Next All-time Argo?
These guys all are deserving ... also Carl Brazely as mentioned above ... For what he ment to our team.... I think Leo should be up there.. ( I don't think he is up there yet ). Go ARRGO's Leo Cahill is another guy who should be in the Hall of Fame. He was the greatest showman Canadian football eve...

Re: Hogan: Who Should Become the Next All-time Argo?
As others have noted all of these players are more than worthy of such an honour.
Factoring in excellence in performance and longevity I’d look at Carl Brazely and Kevin Eiben.
Brazely would get the nod because he played in a previous era than Eiben.

Re: In this thread we praise The TiCats
Somewhat off-topic, but Ticats have hired Casey Creehan as an assistant coach. Football coaches have unbelievably itinerant lifestyles: Creehan has lived in 18 different communities since entering coaching in 1999. He managed to stay four consecutive years in Calgary (2004-07) and had five two-year...
