I was hopeful that one or more of the subs on defence would stand out bringing hope for our defence next year. After all, Lemon is going to be another year older.
McKenzie was okay while he was in, but the rest of the front 7 were pretty well owned by Montreal. Not a good showing, although it begs the question as to whether or not coaching schemes play a role.

I agree that this is going to be a huge issue.... not just for the Argos, but for many other teams in the league. And in looking across the league at other team's backups, it's not as if there too many that would be worthy of poaching if they were available in free agency.AngeloV wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2026 12:31 pmI agree with all of this. His numbers look decent, but it was mostly on one play. He’s the only QB under contract next year, so they better make Kelly and Arbuckle top priorities and bring in someone new to develop behind them.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2026 11:02 pm Count me among those who came away unimpressed with Horn. Other than the one great pass to Miller and a couple of decent completions, I saw nothing that made me see him as a future starter. It's only one game and he didn’t have the best personnel around him, but it was meh to me.
Thinking back to the Ricky Ray era, the Argos had Trevor Harris, Zach Collaros and Cody Fajardo all under development, each of whom have had great careers in the league. It is such a far cry from that nowadays.

Glad to be there, always have fun, but what a ho-hum performance.
Argo D looked just lost, finally got some pressures and sacks much later on. Alouettes time of possession during first 20 min. was way 2 much. And their backup QBs (especially Crum) were hitting pass after pass, without their 2 best receivers out there, and their O-line blew our D-line away for both rushing and pass-protection.
Argos need some serious tacklers out there on D for Oct. 31 or its bye-bye to 2026 IMO.
Talking Pickett, Lemon, etc.
And again with the penalties, is that ever getting cleaned-up? on to the cross-over.

I tuned in late and thought Horn looked ok but as the game went on was largely unimpressed, Perez looked awful.AngeloV wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2026 12:31 pmI agree with all of this. Keeping the current QB room intact (Kelly and Arbuckle) a must, the alternative is rather dire!

The Argos are 9-9. Everything is falling into place. I'm not worried in the slightest.

It needs to be kept in mind that the Argos went very vanilla on defence last night, in addition to playing few starters. You can't read much of anything into last night's game.

My heart sank for Slywka. Seeing him walking off with his arm wrapped like that near the end of the game. He played great all year and now it appears he won't be participating in the Eastern Conference Semi Final game.
