CFL 2.0-- the biggest scam going. Just a brutal attempt to reduce spots for higher priced Canadians with "Global" players trained in the NCAA. I also love how a player from American Samoa is considered a Global, but Boris Bede is considered an American.
But his biggest fail to me is getting everyone excited about expansion without first quietly doing the research on the possibility of a stadium.

He really has to go.
I agree 100%. I suspect that when MLSE chaired the CFL BOD the league was saddled by the same budgetary restraints applied to the Argos. Cut, cut and cut team costs. CFL 2.0 rightly pointed out as a cost cutting initiative.

If I am correct, Ambrosie's Number 1 initiative was to reestablish Toronto as a CFL destination. Not only has he failed, but the the reliable teams are now on the ropes. Toronto's franchise is lucky to still be here. But the absence of sales & marketing is laughable. I've had IT problems with the app all season. Fortunately solved before the first two games. I was unable to get a call back twice yesterday. Was the only Argos customer service rep off sick??

Ambroise has to go. The undue MLSE/CSE influence has to end.

I am enjoying Paul Woods "Year of the Rocket" and reminiscing on days when the different owners invested in the team. It is obvious that no marketing effort results in the hard core 12,000 fan base.

I think that the Whitecaps play on Friday night but I suspect that the league didn't want to saddle the Stamps with a Thursday night home game, given their attendance struggles.
That’s a poor excuse if that was the reason. They really should have flipped the games given The time off both the Bombers and Stamos had.

The teams themselves have preferences that have tio be taken into account. Thursday nights are generally not considered a great night for attendance. Calgary and B.C. each have one Thursday game. I imagine the Stamps (who struggle with attendance as it is) would have been very unhappy to get two of them, while B.C. -- which already has the easiest schedule in terms of days between games -- got zero.

"Probably" is doing a lot of work in that sentence. On this specific subject, the USFL had no issue -- every team always played on either Saturday or Sunday all season. And even if he did have complaints about the league, what media outlet would he have relayed them to? It's not as if the Breakers had a local radio station broadcasting their games.

Especially considering they played home games in Birmingham—a different city and state.

Fining kickers for criticizing chipped footballs and then removing them from use? What?

Is there any input from the players?

Whatever goes on at HQ is often divorced from what takes place on the field.

I’d expect much more criticism this season.
I know they need to be consistent about players criticizing the league, but I thought it was stupid what they did with the kickers. They obviously never consulted them on the idea of chipped footballs and just did it. If they had bothered to have a few kickers test the balls etc. before-hand they could have avoided the whole problem. Plus when multiple kickers were complaining about the balance/ weight of the ball, it was obviously an issue.

We talked about this before, but it's ridiculous that MLSE is doing no marketing at all about the Argos. I realize that they're probably pissed that they've lost the 100K that was part of Kelly's contract for promotion, but this a talented, exciting Argo football team that they could promote and it would put additional money in the MLSE pockets. It doesn't make any sense to me.

The league should be embarrassed continuing to have this clown as commissioner, the guy who supposedly has considerable business savvy has indeed shown none during his tenure with the CFL, he’s a total waste of money.

I get the sense that the few people MLSE have working on the Argos are working their tails off but the Argos just don't seem to be a high priority for MLSE. It has been talked about ad nauseam on here about the Argos needing their own President but the Argos do really need their own President. It would be great if the MLSE folks had discussions with the likes of Doman in BC and Peladeau in Montreal about how they are resurrecting those major markets. It feels a lot like the two most clueless ownership groups are those in Calgary and Toronto and they also both happen to be NHL owners.

If MLSE truly cared, all they would have to do is look down the road to Hamilton. As much as I hate to say it, Hamilton has done a great job on the game day experience and often sells out. They have a serious business operations and football operations. Ticats market. They sell tickets. They have corporate sponsors. They do it all. Still abysmal on the field. LOL They'll get better.

Keith Pelley was just hired. I am sure he is tasked to restructure all teams under the umbrella. Understandably, he will focus about 5% of his attention to business/football operations. Five per cent is better than the current 0%. Who knows, he might look at it and say "sell." That might not be the worst result. Running it into the ground at the current rate would be.
