Speaking of the draft , it isn't long before the Invitational Combine takes place. With that in mind and acknowledging we don't know what players will receive NFL interest and how they will perform in the combine/pro day, here is some speculation re players who MIGHT be good draft picks:

Bell (OT)--hard nose competitor and whose father once placed for the Argos
Henning (OT)--a 2023 U Sport H Back All Canadian and after only 2 years on the OL was an All Canadian at OT Inexperienced but with a huge ceiling.
Dyte (WR)--reasonable size and explosive moves but will need to impress in combine
Kettyle (WR)-- All Canadian in 2025 but also will need to impress in combine
Pene (Global) (DL)--a TE who has successfully converted to DL. Might still be in Patriot's camp if it were not for visa problem

An aside---will be interested to see how Soane Toia (DL) performs this year. Was highly rated Global player last year and chosen by Argos in the Global draft. Only 5'11" and 285 lbs but his game film is outstanding.

Others who have a far better knowledge of the talent in the upcoming draft, may have some better suggestions and thoughts.
IF receiver might be an Argo priority for this draft - there are 4 US college ball products (Ulm, Cenacle, DeMontagnac & Djete (guy who you spelled Dyte? - the latter 2 going to the Combine) with pretty decent receiver production resumes; and a few good U Sports guys too (Kettyle - also a punter for emergency capability there; McBean (UBC, with supposed good speed). SO - should be able to get one of those guys with one of the first 2 picks.

I'd also like to see them look at big RB Weagbe Mombo (Windsor) - 220 pound load with a very strong yds/carry average last season; doubtful they target a Canadian RB perhaps though.

Still also think they should look at a safety prospect for TC competition.

Thanks OV for correcting the spelling of Djete's name. That will teach me to spell names from memory. Agree about a big RB but also don't think the team will go there. There are several DBs available and hopefully the team will take a flyer on one of them. A bit of a long shot,. if he gets through the Invitational Combine, is Chandler Jones. He only discovered he qualified as a Canadian when he was playing in Europe.

Wondering about last year's draft pick DBs - Assibo-Dadzie & Masuka - are they going to be in TC? - don't see either on the current roster; hope they do not turn out to be total waste draft picks.

Chandler Jones has the Div I resume that CFL thinkers prefer; maybe just a corner at that size, and his Pro Day testing results coming out of college were average to weak for a pro DB - that being said, watch some GOB draft him first round. ;o)

Might be some GOB family favorites on this draft board - Barron Miles Jr., and I think there is another relative of a former CFL player (?)

Agreed that Queens' Niklas Henning is an interesting prospect - if he shows promise on O-line, he could also be a surprise weapon to deploy at tight end; but that would take a CFL HC/OC willing to deviate from standard procedures - wonder if new HC Miller will show any outside the box CFL thinking (like using a big power back as well) ?

Did the Argos not just sign a power back recently?

That is correct Ravi. Qualan Jones was signed on February 17, yet he is no longer listed on the Argos roster.

On the transactions page, it doesn't show that he has been deleted. Weird.

Jones now appears on the roster, along with LB James Neal who was signed the same day. Technical error i would think.

Good catch there argolio. Moving forward. In looking at the recent signings of rookie Americans, I noticed 2 players, OG Rush Reimer & RB Elijah Young participated in the 2025 Buffalo Bills TC. Is it possible former Argos front office employee Vince Magri put these 2 players on the Argos radar?

I think that's highly possible.
