gil can't disagree with anything here either Craig!ARGO57 wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2026 7:22 amCan’t disagree with anything here, but the weather was abysmal making player evaluation quite difficult.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2026 6:51 am One thing that stood out for me is that 240lb RB Qualon Jones is not an outside runner. Appears to be a lot of depth in the Receiving core. The "questionable" draft picks in the Secondary keep making plays. Still not sure about the OT positions, although I wonder how much playing time Donovan had with BC on Saturday. Oh, and Kelly looked like he is set to go.

I always wonder how much stock they put in evaluating players from pre-season games compared to daily camp practices. 1st, 2nd or 3rd team guys in pre-season don't always play against the 1st, 2nd or 3rd team of the opponent.
Weather conditions look to be much better for Friday's game, so that's good.

I remember Marc Trestman say that he is much more concerned with daily camp practices than preseason games. Whether that view is a common one is an open question.argolio wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2026 10:26 am I always wonder how much stock they put in evaluating players from pre-season games compared to daily camp practices. 1st, 2nd or 3rd team guys in pre-season don't always play against the 1st, 2nd or 3rd team of the opponent.

Word out of Hamilton that McManis could be six gamed to start the season. Knee of course.

Trestman is on to something, I think.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2026 3:54 pmI remember Marc Trestman say that he is much more concerned with daily camp practices than preseason games. Same. I looked and haven't found anything. You're not planning to injure his knee yourself, are you?

Jeff Gilooly? But as a comic in all seriousness, on another forum a rare Cats fan who can actually write, posted that Coach Milanovich reported that McManus has inflammation in his knee. There was mention that he was placed on IR.IssuesMcgee wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2026 12:08 amSame. I looked and haven't found anything. You're not planning to injure his knee yourself, are you?

Re: Pre-Season 1: Toronto at Hamilton
I've now watched the recording (after sitting through a quarter or so drenched in person) and while I saw a lot of stuff I really liked, I did notice that at least three or four times, Hamilton receivers got in behind DBs but the throw from Ford or Dolegala was short. Bo won't miss those throws so our secondary needs work IMO. Having said that, both John and Gauthier look like players.
