Re: 2025-26 Off-Season Transactions
If Brissett goes elsewhere, as now seems likely, I would go after Gittens. Argos need one more starting-calibre NAT receiver IMO.
Re: 2025-26 Off-Season Transactions
Like to get Gittens back for sure; could also go receiver with the first or 2nd draft pick - a number of interesting prospects there.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 9:51 pm If Brissett goes elsewhere, as now seems likely, I would go after Gittens. Wonder who would be that interested in Brissett ? - not sure there will be that much serious interest; IF RD really likes him = maybe; but Ottawa are pretty set at NI receiver and the position overall, including a couple of 1st round draft picks who have played and looked pretty decent. Als do not have much at Canadian receiver.

Would like to see McManis return but I can see both Ottawa and Hamilton taking a serious run at signing him which TBH would have concerned me more in the past, Aaron Casey between Judge and Pickett not to shabby as well.

Ottawa signed ex-EE starting MLB Nyles Morgan after he was released; they also have signed former Argo Jonathan Jones; so they might be counted on as the import LBs there; McManis could help any team IMO, but wonder how he got along with Dinwiddie's sour at times approach to his players ?
Re: 2025-26 Off-Season Transactions
Probably correct OV, Hamilton may be in play on McManis looking to replace Veresuk?OV Argo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 1:33 pmOttawa signed ex-EE starting MLB Nyles Morgan after he was released; they also have signed former Argo Jonathan Jones; so they might be counted on as the import LBs there; McManis could help any team IMO, but wonder how he got along with Dinwiddie's sour at times approach to his players ?
All depends on his $$ demands.
You do wonder if Dinwiddie’s act grew tired with the players last year, I suspect it did but ultimately $$ talks.

On the first day of the official tampering period, the Argos have reportedly agreed to terms with Ottawa LB/DB Robert Priester.

Nice to see Hamilton get raided. Looks like the boarded up TV repair shop on Barton street is no longer a selling point when it comes to retaining FAs.

Priester is meh for me. He was inconsistent here, and IMO doesn't have a natural position. I suppose he will go back to being a backup to Pickett and a special-teamer (and should have been paid accordingly).

Totally agree. Argos made some great moves prior to the Tampering Window. Still hoping for McManis & Brisset...maybe Amos gets out of Steeltown too & comes back but I think Hamilton may break the bank since it appears that they lost lost so many players today.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 4:33 pm Priester is meh for me. Good signing, he looked pretty decent in the 2024 Grey Cup game!paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 4:33 pm Priester is meh for me. He was inconsistent here, and IMO doesn't have a natural position.
