The UFL has announced that DC, the city that coincidentally hosts the league's best team, will be the site of the UFL Bowl in June.

Quelle surprise!
I watched some of the DC (with former Argos Derek Parish, Joe Wallace, and Willie Drew on their defence)/Birmingham game last night. The Stallions are a tire fire - it's a good thing Taylor Elgersma got out of there and finally headed to Winnipeg. Very poor attendance in Birmingham, too, with an announced crowd of just over 8,000 on hand and it didn't even look like that much. How did AJ McCarron get the head coaching position there anyway? He looks way in over his head.

The new league owner thought that hiring retired local players with no HC experience would be a good idea. Birmingham, Columbus & Louisville are a combined 3-10 under this idea.

If this league can die a fast death and end spring football in the US for good, the new CFL schedule can fill US summer with 15 weeks of football before NFL kicks off. Get some kind of following on a network down there and collect some of the better UFL players.

Through 3 games this weekend, no game has surpassed 10,000 in attendance. But all is well.

On Twitter, I can't help but laugh when I see some UFL fans trying to twist themselves in knots to say an attendance of 8k, for example, is a positive sign. Only 7k in DC today is a really bad sign.

After the league orchestrated trade, Luis Perez finally gets to start for St Louis this weekend. Meanwhile, Dallas, the team he was traded from is using a WR as a backup QB.

With 2 weeks left in the regular season, it was announced that Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has been awarded a expansion franchise for the 2027 season. The team will play out of a newly constructed soccer stadium that has a capacity of 10,000. Renewals for seasons tickets for the 2027 season has also been announced. Attendance continues to plummet but apparently tv ratings are AMAZING for the UFL.

After receiving stern criticism for not updating the thread, gil is back. Over the weekend 3 teams were eliminated from playoff contention with 1 week to go. Columbus, despite a heroic performance by former CFL washout QB Jalen Morton was ousted despite winning. Joining them were Houston & Dallas who lost thier 6th game in a row. Expansion Louisville & Birmingham remain in contention for that last spot. Attendance was strong despite stadiums obviously being between 10%-30% full. To put that in perspective, I once distributed 8,000 tickets for my men's slo pitch team. 8 people attended but attendance was officially 8,000.
