Yesterday the reigning Grey Cup Champions (1999 since Hamilton has won the Cup) inked DB Armani Watts to a contract. Former Super Bowl winner with extensive NFL experience and is only 28 years of age. It should be noted however Watts has not suited up for 2 seasons.

Echoing Ben Grant, I wonder if the Argos release Tommy Nield if they knew that Sindani would retire?

I think Nield gets released regardless. He hit a wall in Toronto and hadn't demonstrated an ability to be able to move up to a starting position. They can likely draft someone to replace Nield and perhaps have the potential to one day be a starter.

Ben Grant's depth chart has McFadden as just a back-up behind C. Evans at corner - can't see it (or i hope not) - Evans can play D-half and likely easily displace either of Milton & George; leaving McFadden & Franklin at the corners. Could see them handing safety to an import over Blackburn if they want to roll with 7 only NI thinking; but they could also maybe draft one of the top safety prospects and give the guy a real shot to compete.

Mital listed as a back-up, but again, hope not - guy could easily graduate to a starter who is targeted lots and IMO has much more potential or ability as a starter over Ungerer or Mayala (who are solid receivers still though); can also look at drafting a receiver - to make up for the losses of Nield & Sindani - and maybe get a good one in the mid to late rounds (the example of Kiondre Smith with Hamilton - not a high draft pick, not a very good athletic tester at Combine - is glaring IMO as he was one of the top receivers in the entire league last season when given the work).

If they do roll with one Canadian starter at OT (Hunter backed-up by whoever), AND Ciraco is good to go at C, with Nicastro sliding to one OG spot, who wins the other OG spot between Vandal & Giffen ?

Hergy Mayala had the same production as Nield and Sindani combined. Although Nield is a 800-1,000 yard REC now according to Suits.

??? - Mayala has been given way more CFL playing time opportunity than either of Nield or Sindani. You do understand that a receiver is not going to put decent to good #s if they are part-time players or not targeted much in an offence ?

And pretty well any receiver who makes a CFL roster could put IMO up an 800 - 1000 yard season if they got targeted 100 times or so in a season. So - and i can't stand the guy mostly on TSN with his cliches and boring, repetetive "game notes" - I agree with Suitor that Nield easily has CFL 800 + receiving yard potential if were to play and get targeted lots.
