Nice to see the team pay attention to Canadian talent from various sources - the draft, plus FAs; the off-season signings of undrafted receiver Tristan Ready (Carleton) and former CFL top draft pick E. Makonzo (started at S-OLB some for the EE a few years back), was some evidence of this. Hope some of these new additions can step-up at TC to make the roster and an impact for the team.
Coty Wiles of TSN had O'Neil as his top-ranked undrafted free agent.
Near the completion of the Amateur Draft, I think I recall both JC & Ben commenting that since the O Line draft was so deep this year, that in other years O'Neil would have been selected early. Good job by Argos front office for restocking the Canadian talent, despite what Marshall Ferguson says.
Ferguson is a Hamilton shill, his opinion doesn’t mean much.

Argos' top draft pick Henning has signed with the NFL's Raiders, after attending their rookie mini-camp - according to 3 Down

Even the CIS players are signing in the NFL. How long until he comes back if ever? That league has more money than it knows what to do with. They can keep players out of circulation. How many total roster spots do they have including pr, ir, mini camp, etc?

Some U Sports players have been signing in the NFL for decades now.
And sure the NFL has bigger rosters than ever and eat up a lot of players, but IMO there are still tons of them (American and Canadian) available to play in the CFL.
And the CFL decided to treat young Canadian talent entering the league like dirt - holding them all to minimum wage (for 3 years is it) - allow CFL teams to offer significant signing bonuses to top Canadian talent and increase the # of Canadians on CFL rosters so they form a majority and the league would be far better off, IMO.

I would like to see the top Canadian salary on each team not count towards cap. BC can build a juggernaut around Rourke. Some of our best talent can choose to come/stay North vs. Non starter role.

To be honest, I think that it's impossible to compete with the lowest NFL PR salary at this point. The only way around this is offering Canadian rookies $300k+ and that just isn't possible at this time.

Argos have released National DB Jonathan Edouard and recently-signed American DL Malachi Bailey.

I thought Edouard played well when he got chances on defence, so this surprises me a bit. But it’s good news if it means they believe the other Canadian DBs are better fits than he is.

I liked Edouard, too, but wonder if, at age 30, they don't see him as a potential starter and have decided to move on.
