Thanks for that link: we shall see by the upcoming next CFL Scouting Bureau list if any of these very good U Sports QBs get any GOB respect; a number of the favored NCAA Canadians on that list did not do much down there this past season. Desjardins, Senecal, Elgersma & Tachinski could all be on that list IMO.

No problem OV Argo, its great to be able to communicate and debate with people who share an common interest in the Canadians in the CFL. Here are my current predictions (just opinions, no insider knowledge, for debate purposes only) on where I see the Canadian QBs in the upcoming CFL related events.

Next CFL Scouting Bureau - thinking that just Rouke and Elgersma will be on the list
College Gridiron Showcase - thinking Elgersma and Tachinski might make the trek down to Fort Worth
Regional Combine - guessing Senecal, Hillock, and Hall will be invited
National Combine - guessing Elgersma, Desjardins(confirmed?), Tachinski
Buffalo Bulls Pro Day - guessing Elgersma only QB. Joined by Vysshonne Janusas and Jackson Findlay.
CFL Draft - guessing just Rourke and Elgersma will be drafted
2025 CFL Training Camps - Elgersma drafted. Tachinski signed as a free agent. Senecal and Desjardins invited to Alouettes training camp.

And here's my predictions: Kurtis Rourke gets CFL drafted, likely in the later rounds, after he gets at least some decent NFL interest (later round pick there). He never shows up in the CFL.

Elgersma the likely maybe to be CFL drafted of all of the outstanding group of U Sports QBs up this draft. A couple more might get CFL camp invites. But NONE of them will get even close to a real look on any CFL team's QB depth chart / TC competition. Kyle Quinlan reported on how he felt "segregated" from other QBs in TC in his supposed Als try-out (and they subsequently "forgot" to invite him to team camp they were holding in the States before TC). These U Sports QBs who might get to attend a CFL camp will be more like a PR stunt or feel-good story, sort of along the lines of the CFL's little Lebowski Canadian QB intern program = a condescending GOB joke made to make some gullible types in the football reporting set or, CFL fan forum types, believe the GOB club cares on the subject.

Seems to be less Canadian participation in some of those US college all-star showcase games (why no Shrine game invites to U Sports players last year ?). And I say again - we need our own version of one of those all-star / CFL draft showcase games. Doman & the Lions could host it in early Dec. indoors, as the finale to the Canadian football season. Invite top U Sports players, a Junior star or 2 from each Conference across the country and whatever US college ball Canadians would be willing and able to attend. Get both the CFL & U Sports coaches and leaders involved and make it a week long event with a Combine. Make sure it gets on National TV (TSN or whoever). The U Sports East-West game is good, but is held in the spring (before interest in the football season) and gets next to zero attention or coverage. Change needed on this to promote and publicize all the outstanding young Canadian football talent, IMO.

And not only that - be nice if there was a fan forum out there for big fans of the CFL draft and the Canadian talent maybe able to go on to the pros - for discussion, critiques, reports, etc. There is very little interest (until close to CFL Combine time) on the few CFL fan forum sites i visit. Maybe there are very few of us though ?
I guess I could try to start a Facebook page, but guessing that would be a real pain in the @$$ that I would not have the patience for (?)

Granted, Rourke went up against the best secondary he's seen all year in Notre Dame but his passing was still subpar with disappointing ball placement. Notre Dame wouldn't let him release the ball quickly, which is his strength.

When evaluating Kurtis as a pro, he isn't nearly as dynamic as his brother but is more of a typical NFL pocket passer and is bigger. He may go in the mid-to-late rounds of the NFL draft and as OV said, we may never see him up here.

Emory Hunt is a guy who has been covering college ball pro prospects for some time. Not sure if he is a Canadian but he has awareness and respect for top U Sports players.

He also had Windsor OLB Devin Veresuk as his top OLB guy and also made mention of GGs DB Eric Cumberbatch and Rams O-lineman C. Klassen.

3 Down's JC Abbott was supposed to be at this event and said he would post a report on Monday - but so far nothing - wonder what happened there ?
