gilthethrill wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2026 5:03 am My heart sank for Slywka. Seeing him walking off with his arm wrapped like that near the end of the game. He played great all year and now it appears he won't be participating in the Eastern Conference Semi Final game.

Yeah; tough and sad. He was making an impact as a sort of hybrid LB/DB flying around to the ball; but at least there are several other guys available who can fill that role, IMO. Any word on wether Judge could play next week? - he would be a good veteran leader add. And the D-line needs to find the right combo of guys who can rotate in to play reps and stay fresh (rather than relying on Lemon or anybody else to play all game).

Wonder if O'Shea might roll with Dru Brown starting after he showed way better than Collaros to rescue the Bummers season last game? Brown did have that huge passing day vs. the Argos in that play-off game for the RedBlacks.
I was wondering about Owen Goss too....I would expect Tuebner will start there...who the backup will be is a good question.
I thought about Goss, too, but he may be done for the season.

I'd like to see 2 bigger inside LBs in the game early to help control Oliveira - stop the run early and Condell will abandon it like a rat off a sinking ship. Darkangleo & maybe McKenzie but I'd be tempted to use vet Herdman-Reed on first downs and 2nd and short situations.

I thought it was a good game for the place kicking team having 4 long distance attempts. Lirim made a good adjustment after the one he missed and finished strong. Not sure if there were subs from the regular unit for this game.

Strong likelihood IMO that field goals play a big part of the ESF with 2 great kickers that can hit from outside 50. It's never ever going to be the same after this year. Not to mention the momentum that goes along with a successful long kick.

I assume you're being facetious, but my understanding is that PR players are not obligated to accept any such offer from another team. I don't think Coxie (or any of those guys) would voluntarily leave the team at this stage of the season to join a team that has a tougher path to the Grey Cup and a QB who has been inconsistent all season.
I'm also prepared to make him the highest paid receiver in the league. The plane I was talking about him being on is a private jet.

Just saying he would not be hurting the Bombers lineup.

Also do not underestimate Zach Collaros imo. Goes along with the position I'm sure but he takes a lot of undeserved criticism that other players are contributing to.

Personally, I am hoping for the Stampeders to get in and the late season games are not doing me any favours. I point to the schedule again when Calgary faced Montreal back to back early in the year while Sask avoided them until late in the season.
Highest paid receiver over Tyson Philpot ??? - sorry, i really like Coxie but he's not even close to as good an all-around receiver - hands, YAC ability, route running, IMO. And there are several other CFL receivers as good or better (again, IMO). Mind you - this is a CFL where some "observers"/ commentators still refer to Kenny Lawler as "league best" type - guy who is not even in the top 20 this year, with a continued real bad catch to target ratio. Whatever - to each his own.
It was meant as light hearted comment related to the unique roster management concept of moving players to the practice roster that the team would never expose to other teams given the exact interpretation of that league rule. It started off with "If I were the Bombers" and then went on to suggest getting him in the lineup for that night's game in Vancouver. My big mistake was to not use a smiley face.

paulwoods13 asks if I am being "facetious" and explains how the practice roster works. I fall prey to being a weaker person and use sarcasm to get under his skin by the making Coxie the highest paid comment. There were others on that list that went to the practice roster that a team would not want to lose. Perhaps there was a tax advantage. I'm sure no one lost money.

I apologize for my boorish behaviour.

Also agree about Lawler. We can make a list once the season is done/ :D

No worries Don. I'm all good with some joking around here. :D

And I detest CFL roster shenanigans; teams should be able to rest guys in meaningless games IMO, but the IR lists are often phony and should be subject to league inquiries or investigations. And the trend to more and more American players (check teams' PRs - they are often about 80 to 90 % American) and the goofy designated National or designated import and snap counts for Americans getting to play over Canadians stuff is total garbage, IMO. Game rosters are just too large now IMO, but I guess going back to less is never going to happen (coaches want extra "depth" and the union wants the jobs).
