I'm pretty sure they will have zero access to BMO, not even the nearby offices, much less the locker room. The entire operation will need to move for a couple of months, at least. Lamport won't work, so maybe Guelph or a high school.
I think that is the case.

How can the league think this is remotely acceptable? 3 home games in Ham, Wpg, Saskatchewan against those same teams? And they have to play those teams again for their Away games? Those are the most difficult stadiums to play in. Football is the most difficult sport to play on the road. This is a fatal competitive disadvantage for one team. Where's Rogers in all of this fighting for their team. Pelley?
Do you honestly think that the CFL finding this acceptable or not is even a consideration? The City of Toronto is budgeting something like $380 million dollars to host these World Cup games. No amount of Argo fan revolt, or action by the league or Rogers, would make a difference. And the contract with FIFA gives them unfettered access to BMO for 30 days before the World Cup starts.
The worst thing is the decision by the league for the Argos to have 3 home games away, two of them out west. Some of the suggestions put forward in this thread would be way better alternatives. But here is the rub.... the opponents for those home games out west will be the Bombers and the Riders, so you can pretty well be certain that the stadiums will be filled, much more so than BMO ever is. Thus, the irony is that Rogers will stand to make more money this way. And in the end, that matters more than anything else.
One question.... I am not a soccer fan, so don't follow TFC. I assume they would be in a similar position? What is happening with them?
The CFL should care about each of their teams. And that only playing 6 out of 18 home games is a pretty bad idea. Now whether they have the clout to do anything about it is another question. But in August 2025 Rogers telling the league they want to play home games in Winnipeg, Regina and Hamilton in 2026 is an open conversation, and the league and CFLPA could negotiate with Rogers to do something else.

And if part of that negotiation is the CFL getting certain guarantees of ongoing ownership out of Rogers for the viability of the team for this payday in 2026, than that's legitimate. Maybe that's happened. Stewart Johnston does not come across as someone who is incompetent or weak.

Since the Argos will be turfed out of BMO, including use of change rooms etc for about 2 months, the team will have to be housed someplace else for practices and changing/equipment rooms. The logical place would be a move to Guelph University, if the university could swing it. So extending that thinking, the next logical move would be to play the 3 "home games" at Guelph. There is precedent for this as Hamilton played a number of games there when their stadium was under construction. The cost of expanding the seating by having temporary stands on the east side, should be covered by the World Cup organizers as they are responsible for the ousting of the team from their facilities.

Good luck with that.

Predictions: 1. This decision is not gonna change. 2. Johnston is not gonna extract any guarantees from Rogers about anything.
Money talks.

Honest question and forgive me if this is obvious. Do we know for sure who exactly is responsible for this decision? Is it Rogers, the CFL, the City of Toronto?

No, we don't. And I don't think we ever will know.

My guess would be Rogers.

I think figuring out who is accountable for this terrible decision would be best for our collective sanity, and it might give Argo/CFL fans a productive avenue to direct our indignation to.
