gilthethrill wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 9:20 amAs for Ciraco, I don’t know why his play diminished so much last year. It seemed obvious he wasn't in the teams plans. 3 Down seems to focus on the bonus as to why the moves were made.
It's worth remembering that Ciraco played only two games in 2024. He squeezed two full years of pretty high salary and almost zero impact out of one outstanding 2023 season. Maybe he was the guy Dinwiddie was referring to for having lost too much weight. (FTR I still think that was Hunter.)

Potentially huge. Now move Hunter back to LG, sign Dejon Allen to play one of the tackle spots and the o-line should look a lot better than it did last year.

Yes, yes & yes to Hunter going back to LG.

Is Shepley going to get a shot to play OT for the Argos or will his passport limit him to OG (where he played in the CFL for the Riders) ?

And all of a sudden highest paid O-lineman in the league ? Not sure that's the brightest GMing move to shell out that kind of money for a guy who hasn't played much football lately and has basically only one year of CFL experience ?

Too early to make any determination, and cast judgment, as to where Shepley will play because we still have free agency to play out.

I don't disagree with your second paragraph, but we shall see whether his play justifies the salary.

Early indications seem to suggest that free agents aren't necessarily balking at playing in Toronto despite their road heavy schedule. We will see if this continues into free agency, but I like the early returns.

Especially guys who have played here before. They know the drill here when it comes to facilities, resources, etc

Given that Shepley hasn't played tackle since his UBC days, I doubt that's where he will end up. I am okay with Ryan Hunter playing tackle, as long as he is healthy. An interior of Hunter, Nicastro, and Shepley could be dominant, though.

You may not like it but the Argos signed Shepley at the going rate for a player of his experience. If they aren't satisfied, they can always release him. I would compare this signing to that of Ryan Hunter in 2022 and that has worked out well for the team.

Great comparison of the Hunter signing. I don't know how anyone could dispute this signing in the slightest.

Was Hunter made the highest paid O-lineman in the CFL when he first showed up after his NFL run ?
