It is beyond ridiculous that we need to find loopholes so that top Canadian prospects have a chance to compete for jobs in the Canadian Football League. And why are these restrictions in place? So that clubs can save a couple thousand dollars on TC costs? Beyond ridiculous.
But isn't giving them special preference to not count against the roster already a loophole?
Shouldn’t the league do whatever it takes to ensure that all the top Canadian prospects have an opportunity to compete for a roster spot? Shouldn’t we be expecting if not demanding that from a CANADIAN football league?
The ones that are good enough will find their way onto a roster.

Indeed, if they are goode enough, they will get to play. The CFL GMs and coaches "just want to win" and don't care if the players are from Mars. And these coaches & scouts are inscrutable judges of football talent - never make any mistakes.

So-so draft for the Argos IMO, but who knows / time will tell.
I just don't get adding 2 more O-linemen (who are hardly blue-chip types) when the Argos already have a pile of Canadian O-line talent including young, depth guys. Where / when are these 2 new draft pick O-line guys going to fit in ? - in a few years maybe, after, what, being on the PR for a couple of years or something.? And another LB - guy with precious little on his college ball resume (but his Dad played in the CFL so maybe a tribute was made?) - when the team has Nat. LBs galore already? Like I said - passing on very impressive talent at positions of way more need (like DT or receiver, or an outstanding safety prospect) - to draft more depth guys where they are already well stocked = I just don't get it; but if some have no clue about the talent that was draftable ... well, whatever.. And dang, they wanted to draft a QB prospect from the likes of Vanier or Hec winners like Senecal or Desjardins, but it just didn't work out.
But really we shouldn't be complaining or even daring to comment on this matter, as the Argo "scouts" are all inscrutable geniuses, and not to be questioned.
Call the Argos. Let them know how much better they could have drafted if you were in charge. They could use the help. It's not like they are putting together championsip-winning rosters or anything.
Yes they are football geniuses who can do no wrong, and how dare anyone criticize. Theren Churchill, anyone?
I never said they were football genuises that can do no wrong.
You don't agree with the way the team drafted, but I don't agree with you or OV. Stop acting like a victim and deal with it.

It would be really nice if you contributed something other than your anti Canadian conspiracy theories on here. But feel free to keep beating that dead horse. I don't own this site, so I can't stop it.

So why don't you start your own Argos cheerleading & CFL / my way or the hi-way type site / forum? Then you hopefully u will only hear from fellow Argo cheerleaders and dissenting opinions could be banned ?
Little note for you chum, just FYI - I've been watching tons of CFL football and the Argos since before you were born; and I continue to watch a huge majority of ALL CFL games in a season as I have been for decades. So go start your own little football forum, or perhaps you could use the ignore function, or whatever the f@#k it is that would prevent you from reading football stuff that hurts your little feelings.

Many people occupy nuanced, moderate, or entirely different positions that don’t fit neatly into binary categories.
One cannot necessarily assume that those who disagree with you endorse the opposite end of the spectrum.
Sometimes authority is right, even if a health skepticism thereof is appropriate.

Sure; and the "OMG, what conspiracy are you on about" card is played over & over again by those who cannot deal with dissenting opinions or whose feelings are all offended by something they just don't like to hear. Don't like to hear all sorts of "nuanced" views, then I would suggest (just IMO) finding a more Argos homer / cheerleader type forum to peruse.

The issue here is that there are two groups on this forum who are involved in a 9-year argument that is less about football and more about political ideology. It has hardened both sides and now everyone is incapable of admitting the other side might have a good point once in a while.
Everyone on here that I have argued with, I have also praised and gave credit where credit is due. Nobody on here is a dummy when it comes to football.
Oddly enough, I jokingly predicted years ago that if the Argos were ever a dominant team, we would tear each other apart, because we just wouldn't know how to mentally handle cheering for a successful football team.

It's not hurt feelings. it's 1) you've been posting the same stuff for 20+ years, and 2) it comes across to many of us that you detest most things about the league.

Ok then; so i guess I'm some sort of tortured soul who just watches tons of CFL football to inflict pain on myself and then hope to spread the misery to others ?
Some of the usual suspects have IMO been posting the same old stuff here about the CFL since I started reading here. They just aren't capable of seeing other viewpoints, and sure they don't have to agree with other opinions.. The intolerance is sickening to me, but maybe that's just me, I will fully admit.
