I'd like to personally thank Paul Woods for suggesting the Argos do a dollar hot dog night. It was clearly his idea and he deserves full credit for spearheading the initiative.
We finally made it.

Anyone who wants to thank me for my brilliant idea can buy me a veggie muffuletta at the game.

Can 15,000 - 20,000 consume more than 40,000 Blue Jay fans? Probably. The number to beat is 102,000. Anywhere from 5-7 per person.
Just like Ben Grant, put me down for 20.
Hopefully Adriano Belli is there. Hes good for 20 as well.

Challenge accepted.

It’s great to see the organization actually trying some things to help build the fanbase. It already looks like more promotional activity than all of last year.
Who knows, if they can start the season on a road winning streak, maybe the team gets a bit of an attendance bump when they return. Maybe in a strange way the team’s first half absence actually builds fan interest, latent demand and all that.
Maybe this is the year the Argos finally pass the TFC in average attendance. Wouldn’t that be something, a $1M franchise drawing more fans than a $700M (sic) one? TFC avg. attendance so far this year is just over 16k, down from 21k last year. The bloom is clearly off that rose.

TFC's season ticket base must have eroded a fair bit. Perhaps, the Argos can outdraw them this year.

So far, TFC's average attendance is 3rd lowest in a 30 team league, down 24.4% from last year's average (21,353). They haven't averaged less than 20K fans since 2013. I don't think we will outdraw them, as much as I would love to see that happen.

If TFC season ticket holders were given first Crack at World Cup tickets, no discounts, just opportunity to buy tickets at max price they would have had 27,500 season ticket holders. Opportunity lost.

Nice; but not sure how a perk for existing fans does anything to attract new ones - the masses in that part of the map that barely or have no clue the Argos / CFL even exists ? Does anybody believe a dollar hot-dog is going to be the main attraction to get new fans to show-up ?

I don’t think it will make a difference.
