At this point I have no confidence in either scenario.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2026 1:26 amYes, I agree with you on all of this. I am still pissed over this loss. Anyway, hopefully they can force Brice into a lot of mistakes next Saturday and the offence can exploit a BC secondary that is vulnerable to the big play.AngeloV wrote: ↑Sun Jul 19, 2026 3:38 pmOr the returner would have just let it bounce through the end zone.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 19, 2026 3:34 pm Argos actually suffered for getting as close as they did. If the kick had been 10 or 15 yards longer, the ball might have stayed in play and Ticats would have had to get it out of the end zone.
I didn’t like the 2 - 1 yard runs to set up for the FG. I wasn’t confident in Lirim and was saying they need to try and score major. Of course there are risks, but the offence was humming at that point
And I hated the decision to kick the FG on 3rd down from the 5

It’s easy to forget what a great comeback this was. They completely turned a bad game around on both sides of the ball. I’m excited about the level of compete in this dog.
I thought Pickett6 took charge in the second half and lifted the whole D. They had trouble containing Ford’s running, but then again a lot of teams do, and other than that I thought the D was actually pretty good. Great to see Franklin making plays again.
I think the receivers should be doing a little bit more to help their QB. More egregious drops from Dymere and Polk. Ungerer badly misjudges a perfectly thrown long ball. At least twice I saw Kelly gesturing to a receiver as if he ran the wrong route.
I see Chad escaping the first wave of rush but still not finding an open receiver. Are these guys not doing a good enough job getting open in a scramble?

Miller could have caught his after his adjustment, but make no mistake, it was a badly thrown ball with 2 db's all over him.. Polk's was a 2nd and very long, and was still 10 yards short of the first down. A far cry from egregious.

I appreciate your optimism and enthusiasm, Rich, but I also think we mustn't forget that the only time the defence looked good was when Hamilton was playing a guard at one tackle spot, a backup at the other tackle spot, and a fullback/tight end at guard. The Argos also were down a couple of d-linemen at the time, but the injuries along the line worked heavily in favour of Toronto.RichK wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2026 12:40 am It’s easy to forget what a great comeback this was. I agree. Miller definitely should have held onto that ball, but it was thrown behind him and into a dangerous spot. Fortunately for the Argos it did not cost them as they scored later on that possession.

Paul you were at the game, when Kelly was scrambling for his life was anybody getting open for him?paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2026 7:07 pmI agree. Just because it wasn’t for a first down doesn’t mean it wasn’t yet another embarrassing drop for Polk. Are you gonna tell me the botched long ball to Ungerer was Kelly’s fault too?

I'd have had to be looking downfield rather than watching Kelly try to escape, so the answer is I don't know.RichK wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2026 11:50 pmPaul you were at the game, when Kelly was scrambling for his life was anybody getting open for him?paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2026 7:07 pmI agree. Never said that was Kelly's fault. Just saying the drop was insignificant, unless you are wrapped up in personal stats. Nobody defends Kelly more than I do. In fact, I blamed Coxie on his interception, because when a receiver is running a short slant, he should never let the DB get to the inside of him, and if he does, you grab him and take an OPI penalty.
