What speaks volumes to me is that you continue to defend Ford despite mounting evidence he's not up to the challenge, while stating that a guy who has yet to play a full game in the CFL can already be considered a "stiff."

I'm guessing maybe you didn't read my full post on Ford and the type of QB he is? Do you perhaps recall Tracy Ham playing QB for the Argos, or no? Or you choose to ignore this and claim , I guess, that I am championing Ford as some sort of CFL QB great? Did you see Frost fumble away a TD and throw a brutal pick 6 , but you're Ok with that I guess? - maybe he deserves 5 more starts in a row for some reason while Ford gets hooked after a couple of bad plays ?

Face it - Ford is going to draw as much criticism as possible just because of his passport - that's the way the CFL works - with plenty gleefully pointing out his flaws or saying he does not deserve the chances, or "look, a Canadian QB can't cut it"; Canadian trained QBs really aren't meant to play in the CFL but dozens and dozens of new American QBs get opportunities in a 10 year period where it's lucky if one Canadian trained QB even makes a roster. If you're Ok with that, that's just swell. I get most CFL people just do not want to face or admit to the deeply ingrained bias, ignorance & prejudice that the CFL has held towards Canadian QBs - with mostly Americans running CFL personnel decisions, its not surprising - going on decades now. Not a comfortable topic for a lot of CFL fans, I get that, and sticking a head in the sand and accepting it is not surprising. Probably a lot of NFL fans or commentators at the time did not want to make waves or talk about the NFL period with deep, ingrained bias against African- American background QBs; most get it now, and it has been NFL discarded with lots of QBs from that background getting opportunity and often succeeding. The CFL's myopic, blatant bias schtick lives on stronger that ever though - maybe part of the Canadian inferiority complex thing?

Elbows up   - hey, that must be one of Ford's passing mechanics problems ? - they should send him to off-season pass training with the likes of Dru Brown & Jake Maier maybe.

The vast majority of CFL fans were hoping for Ford to succeed, and for Rourke to succeed, and for Elgersma to succeed. So far they've got their wish with one of them; the jury's still out on the other two although it's getting close to a verdict on Ford. The percentage of CFL fans who believe no Canadian is capable of playing QB in the CFL is tiny bordering on non-existent.

Frost did indeed make a couple of terrible plays yesterday. He also got the ball to his receivers in a way that Ford didn't, and if I'm not mistaken he never once bounced a pass intended for an open receiver. Ford threw one of the worst interceptions I've ever seen -- one which definitively ruined Hamilton's chances of a late-game comeback -- the week before, yet was still given another start by the genius Scotty M. So go figure. I fully expect Frosty the Throwman to get another few starts, and we'll start to find out if the genius knows what he's doing.

The percentage of CFL fans who even know about or have seen a Canadian QB play in college ball is slim to none or 1% or so maybe. So, like a lot of sheep, they accept what they have been told/sold and CFL GOB standard operating procedure. Ignorance. Dozens of new American QBs get chances - that is just accepted, normal CFL behavior. Lots of Canadian O-linemen do get CFL opportunities and playing time however.

Not sure what other CFL forums you peruse altogether, but from my limited viewing lately (here, another forum, the old CFL site forum, some Facebook stuff) the number of CFL "fans" who mock or cut-down or don't plain like Rourke of Ford or, Elgersma now, greatly outnumber the number who are pulling for them or like their QB talents. A lot of CFL fans have been trained, like seals, to believe Canadian football talent is inferior to any/all American players, and that the ratio is "unfair" and leads to "ratio problems" and 7 only need apply deep thinking. And they don't grasp the role of the backgrounds of those who get to run the CFL. Really sad and pathetic in my books anyways, but is what it is.

QB Harrison Frost has shown enough to earn the starting job in Hamilton relegating Tre Ford to the backup role.

I hope Frosty brings his bush league heat to BMO Field for CNE game. The Argo D will enjoy his pylon offence.

Tre Ford reminds me very much of Kevin Mason. If anything, Ford's National status is and will continue to afford him additional opportunities over what Mason received.

Scotty M probably has a deal or pact with June Jones or Chris Jones or some other GOB to play Frosty. Maybe Kevin Feterik's Dad is involved as well.
