Mental mistakes, second half collapse. This team was running on fumes, after an emotional win last week against Hamilton.
This season was destined to be a House of Horrors with their schedule. Jekyll and Hyde, good and bad weeks. Is it possible the frustrating football is a result of something no team has experienced before? It is an experiment in real time.
They only have one more western road game, one month from now in Winnipeg and 4 of their next 7 are at home. 5-2 or even 4-3 the rest of the way is doable if they take care of business at home. That would put them at 9-9. Hamilton is not going 4-2 the rest of the way. Toronto wins Lanour Day, second is theirs, period. They can fine tune what they need to, to beat Calgary, Winnipeg or BC in a semi, and Montreal in final.

If you look back at the 2023 season, there are striking similarities, except Montreal and Toronto are reversed. The 2023 Alouettes were 6-7 at one point and never lost again after that.

The thought of them going to Regina twice in a season still pisses me off.

And twice to Winterpeg. It should piss every fan of this team off. It put an anchor around their necks before the season ever started. Honestly answer the question of what every other teams records would be with the same schedule and logistics. Only Montreal might be in better shape. And look what happened to them in Winnipeg last week. Montréal's schedule has not played many Western teams yet. They've feasted on Ottawa and Hamilton 5 times already.

I would not bet against the Argos in an East Final in Montreal. That would be a hell of a game. Kelly will want that game bad. Lemon and Bolden as well. Emotions will be off the charts. Montreal will have first wrapped up in a matter of weeks. The Argos season is grinding them, sharpening them, with each adversity they face this season. They will never take anyone for granted this year.

You can't properly evaluate the Argos without taking this ridiculous schedule into account. By the time they're done with Labour Day, they will have completed two-thirds of the season and only played two home games. That they're 5-6 right now - even though we all think they should be better than that - is a victory in itself with this awful schedule.

100%. Amen! Preach!
"If" the Argonauts pull off some miracle and win the Grey Cup this year, I hope that their season is being documented and chronicled somewhere because they are living a season no professional team in any sport has had to endure with zero media cheering them on.
The Blue Jays get sickening homerism from their Rogers owners Sportsnet.
The Maple Leafs get overloaded attention despite failure after failure and no heart from their leaders.
Raptors players who dont even start get national ad campaigns in a country where most TV viewership is in GTA, and does not warrant the TV deal they have.

I agree with your comments and share your frustration(s). Unfortunately, it just seems to be a popularity contest. As we all know, the Argos/CFL are not very popular. If they were selling out BMO on a regular basis in addition to winning championships, they'd get some kind of uptick in media coverage. Let me be Captain Obvious again by stating that the Double Blue draw flies (last in attendance the last 10 seasons), which is not conducive to obtaining more attention, in addition to being the butt of jokes by other CFL fans. This storied organization deserves much better support and respect from both the sporting public, media, and ownership.
