A very important draft IMO, considering all the loss of Canadian talent the Argos suffered this off-season.

A deeper draft on the defensive side IMO, but the Argos can address areas of need I hope. DT/DE, safety, RB, maybe more DBs or receivers. I guess they could always draft some more O-linemen or linebackers for good ole "depth" and futures. A QB selected ? We shall see.

The global draft was held this morning. The Argos made the following selections:

#9: Valentin Senn/Connecticut/OL/Austria - I note that he has signed an NFL deal with the Cardinals.
#18: Soane Toia/San Jose State/DL/Tonga

Of the 18 selections made, 11 were either a punter and/or kicker.

That #18 pick Toia has a pretty decent resume - Div I starter at DT - Argo area of need. Maybe he shows and has a great TC.

Ojo = excellent; one of the best U Sports DEs in some time. Argos now have 3 very promising young Canadian DEs (Ojo last years draft picks Hergott & Onyeka)

Ok, I'm a bit baffled as to why the Argos would pass on a chance to draft a just outstanding safety prospect in Findlay; guess some explanation will be given - maybe to get 2 picks for one ?

They swapped 2nd round picks with BC and also got the 29th pick, BC gets the 37th pick from the Argonauts.
Just drafted DL Paris Shand at 19.

Findlay ending up in BC is the best fit. I think there's a sense that Findlay's football career may not be a long one, given that he wants to be a doctor. His career may be longer at home in BC.

The Findlay graphic on the broadcast said specifically that he wants to have a long CFL career before becoming a doctor. With his athletic strengths, his leadership, intelligence and family pedigree, he’s almost a can’t-miss prospect. I’m very surprised we passed on both him and Cumberbatch. I loved the first two picks but the rest leave me unmoved at this point.
