This one is a 7:00 kickoff.

The Argonauts cannot, I believe, pass Montreal with a win. They'd have an equal amount of wins, but Montreal has the tie-breaker, which makes Montreal's upset over Saskatchewan on Saturday unfortunate.

No they cannot pass Montreal. Which makes it another must win game. Every game is a playoff game for this team and has been since 8 games remaining. And they have been winning, which should they make the playoffs, makes them a dangerous team to face. They just have to get there.

That said, if Arbuckle can't go, and let's say Kelly is at 90% mobility, how do you not start Kelly? If he can throw and navigate a pocket he is a dangerous QB, with that Argo receiving corps.

I'll be shocked if Kelly doesn't start. Arbuckle's calf injury looked pretty serious, and I'm not taking seriously Dinwiddie's suggestion he might start Doege. Altho the way the org has handled Kelly -- and Dinwiddie's repeated "he needs to be able to protect himself" comments -- leave me wondering if he might remain on the shelf even longer.

A Kelly-MBT matchup will be interesting (but so would an Arbuckle-MBT matchup).

I still don’t understand how Kelly went from could start the season to “he needs to protect himself”. I mean I understand how it could happen but to publicly make those comments….

I guess we wait and see if Alexander comes off the 6 game. If MBT plays, I really think the D can cause havoc for the grizzled veteran....he and Phillot won't have a ST player lining up at CB Friday night.

I think its just gamesmanship by Dinwiddie. Even an 80% Kelly gives you a better chance to win vs. Doege. But we will see. Clearly Kelly thinks he's ready to go based on his post 2 weeks ago.

The only concern that Dinwiddie has been flagging for the past couple of months is the "protecting himself" issue. I am not sure that Kelly can prove that he can do this except in a real, live game situation though. In every other way, it seems like he is ready to play and those who have seen him in practice have repeatedly said how good he looks there. I suspect that we will know much more on Tuesday.

For all we know, Dinwiddie could have just said Chad needs to protect himself to avoid any kind of scrutiny while keeping a hot Arbuckle in as the starter.

If Dinwiddie says "Kelly is good to go, but Arbuckle is hot so we are sticking with him," imagine the outrage he would face if the Argos lose.

Of course this theory goes out the window completely if Doege starts on Friday.

This is a huge game, obviously. A loss would effectively end any chance of finishing second. A win wouldn't ensure a second-place finish but would keep hopes of that alive. That's a lot of pressure on whomever ends up starting at QB.

Absolutely. I mean, we can always hope the Bombers go 0 for the rest of the season, but yeah, it is a huge game, as is next week at BC.
