Remember when John Murphy told Ben Grant on X's and Argos that they expected Kelly to only miss the first 3 games of the season?

Chad Kelly
Nick Arbuckle thrice - twice an Argo, once a Stamp
Cameron Dukes
Jarrett Doege

Jo Levi Mitchell as a Stamp
Let’s not get carried away. Dukes definitely regressed after his first 2 games last year

More and more I’m thinking it’s Kelly himself that isn’t comfortable.

The Kelly situation is very strange. Now he is back on the 6 game injury list and therefore no longer practising with the team. Yet he was a few days ago and indicated he would be playing soon. Will we ever hear the true story?

I am confident the Argos will win Friday night. The way Grant has been on returns lately, I think he springs one for a TD. The D will either score a TD of thier own or set Doege up with good field position. If Doege can be ordinary until Arbuckle returns (yes, you read that right), The Argos will make the playoffs, with a scheduled bye week going into it.

Dukes had no business winning at all with no ability to throw deep, but somehow he did. He's been in Montreal with 2 years of CFL experience with everybody down and Maas, a QB head coach like Dinwiddie had no confidence putting him in.
But yes he did regress, but Dinwiddie still got juice out of him.
Let's hope he gets the same out of Doege.

To be fair, Dukes arrived in Mtl months after camp as an emergency guy. It's not hugely surprising that Maas would prefer to play a prospect with decent potential, Morgan, who had been in the system for months. That said, I think Dukes hit his ceiling in the first couple of games last year and is destined to be a third-stringer at best.

Arcane mash up / reference to The Water Boy with Adam Sandler, and to current Argo season. Wouldn't it be incredible if at the end of the season we look back at these games and can say Doege came off the bench and pushed the Argos into the post season conversation and salvaged their season. Bourbon Bowl of course was the big game at the end of The Waterboy that Bobby Boucher wins. That Edmonton game with how it ended and the emotions on the two benches had a Bourbon Bowl feel to it. Lord knows I had me some bourbon after that nailbiter.
