American RB Jyran Mitchell is back with the Argos after an impressive performance in the 2nd preseason game of 2025. Mitchell had two short stints on the practice roster last season but didn't appear in a regular season game.

According to CFL.ca Transactions, DB Willie Drew Jr has been released by the club. Drew, a 2025 UFL Champion, 2024 Grey Cup Champion & former member of the Argos Neg List, started a few games for the Argos later in the 2025 regular season.

I don't know about Willie Drew or Drew Willy, but Baby Billy would sure look good in Double Blue as Strong Safety.

Hendrix was a solid piece in the excellent '23 defence, but can never seem to outlast his offseason bonus.

Logan likely replaces Grant as KR/PR.

Like to see Hendrix regain his previous best Argo form; he was pretty average with Hamilton & BC, IMO.

Holley & Pickett were excellent news for the 26 D; Peters was already extended by the Ticats.

Still need some better pass rush DE production (give Ojo a real shot there); and better play (plus maybe schemes) from the secondary, where McFadden is maybe the only sure thing.

Is McManis going to draw big FA interest (?) - maybe from the Ticats (Veresuk went to the NFL); or maybe he signs with the Argos for less than huge CFL bucks to help sign some other FAs? McManis flanked by Pickett & Judge, as has been noted, would be a maybe all-time Argo LB corps (though Landry, Pless & Moen back in 86 is hard to beat IMO)

The Argos have also released American defenders Darius Bratton and Brandon Dozier.
