I like the roster. Always thought Priester would be a good safety. I guess Slywka can fill in at receiver if something unforeseen happens. Probably could have dressed 1 less LB because Cassar could fill in if needed.
Re: Argos @ Montreal Game Thread
Looking at the Als depth chart and they have only one back-up receiver dressed and it's their main returner as well; Cibasu - listed at H-back - can play receiver though; and as AV has pointed out, the Argos have Slwyka on the roster and he has receiver skills and experience.
Might be a new CFL trend - to dress just one back-up receiver ? Possible dumb roster management or myopia though; a 5 man starter group in a pass happy offence league and you only have one back-up ?

I don't think there's any trend or standard in roster deployment. Each team is trying to meet their needs for any given game and those needs may differ from game to game.OV Argo wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2026 4:52 pm Looking at the Als depth chart and they have only one back-up receiver dressed and it's their main returner as well; Cibasu - listed at H-back - can play receiver though; and as AV has pointed out, the Argos have Slwyka on the roster and he has receiver skills and experience.

Interesting lineup that the Argos have put out. Looking forward to see the return of Kelly and if Coxie can continue his magic in Montreal. However, I'm excited to see the debut of Kahmann, who apparently had a strong camp. I'm also looking forward to see the new look D-line to see if they can get pressure on Alexander and more importantly, keep him in the pocket.

A solid first half for the Argos. The o-line looks very good and Kelly is quickly rounding into form.

Disappointing 4th quarter.
Seemed to happen last year a lot as well.

Lots of positives tonight! O-line was great, Kelly handled things well after such a long time in between games, Pickett is very much welcomed back, Hicks was great, and HC Miller was good.
Negatives - Special Teams (aside from Grants run off of Judge's block) - Lrim has to be better, execution in the 4th quarter was not good. I want a better called game by DC Quick.
All in all a very entertaining game and the Argos gave em lots to contend with. Need to be so much better though.

Coxie and Polk had off games tonight; once they get going, look out!
I feel frustrated with how many points the offence left out there. There were the two missed field goals but the Argos also kicked one from 12 yards out. When you get to the 5, you have to score TDs. That's 10 points in total at least that were squandered.
The o-line was fantastic, Hicks looked good at RB, and Mital, Kahmann, and Ungerer all played well. Kelly is going to be even better once the kinks are all worked out.
The defence needs to improve but I thought there were a lot of positive signs there, too. You can see what Mike Miller is talking about when he preaches about this team playing physical football because they certainly did tonight.
