Max Duggan had a rough night, although he did save a TD with a great tackle, so the score could have been worse. Jake Maier won't be the starting QB in Otfawa for long. Was looking to see if Villian, the DE who did want to sign with the Argos would play well but he didn't even dress. I tapped out at half time so I will have to see highlights regarding Dinwiddie & the challenge situation.
Ottawa loses, what a shame!

That decision could possibly end up messing up the whole Redblacks season, and I think that would serve him just right. He made another of his trademark stupid coach’s challenges tonight, and he blew yet another 3rd and short by running the ball out of the shotgun, absolutely ridiculous.

I think he is one of the most overrated coaches in Argos history. He had a ton of great players who made him look good here. I think we are soooo much better off without him.
It will be interesting to see if Dinwiddie can replicate the success he had here in Ottawa. Dinwiddie came into a good situation when he first came to Toronto as the building blocks were in place, and then Kelly was able to take over. Having the best QB in the League (imo) helps sustain success. I don't think Ottawa is near the talent level we had here at one point.

I do think that Dinwiddie's success here also got in his head, and he bought into his own hype. What I saw from him last year, is not what I want to see from my Head Coach, but it will be interesting to see if he's learned from that or if Ottawa isn't that successful and we start seeing that part of him come out again (which clearly didn't sit well with the Argos players).

Not sold overly on Meier or Brown, but I do think Brown is the better QB of the two, just needs to be able to stay healthy.

I agree 100% with you comments regarding Dinwiddie.
No doubt he had a successful run as the Argonauts HC but I suspect his act (and ego) grew old over time.

Yeah - RD came across as a clown or goof last year with the Argos; can never take away that 3 year Argo run he had though.

Chance to prove doubters wrong this year in Ottawa - but if the first game is any indicator, it does not look good, and that was dumb offensive football with a mediocre QB running it.

That the struggle he will have moving forward, Drew Brown and Jake Maier are a far cry from Chad Kelly, MBT, Nick Arbuckle and the stacked Argonaut roster he had during much of his tenure in Toronto.

Ha. ha; you lost me at Chad Kelly; if Dinwid can win with MBT or Arbuckle, he should be able to win with Brown or even Maier. And as far as the rest of the Argonaut roster being more "stacked" than the current RedBlacks one, I don't agree really; in places maybe - like an MLB like Muamba or McManis or a couple of D-linemen the Argos had; but the rest of this RedBlacks roster - on offence particularly - is as good or better, on paper anyways, IMO than most of what RD had to work with in Toronna. I think the real problem might be his, as you said, "act and ego" - where he thinks he can be HC, OC and GM, and that is too much for about anybody.

Duggan's UFL stats were quite pedestrian. He has never been able to translate an excellent college career to the pro level.

But, he's a power 4 player that had great success.

He can't throw. That matters in the pros.
