Training camp musings can go here.
I sound like a broken record, but major news warrants its own thread.

Benjie Franklin and Lirim Hajrullahu both transferred to 'INJURED VETERAN'
Uh oh

Re: 2025 Training Camp Thread
I was going through the Toronto Star archives from the 1970s the other day and was reminded just how transparent the Argos and other CFL teams used to be back then. I really miss that a lot. I imagine that trying to determine what is either of Franklin's or Hajrullahu's injuries will be next to impossible.

Did anyone on the forum attend Day 1 of Rookie Camp yesterday? Anyone? Buehler?

Pro sports is now a world of paranoia. I think the NHL started it with their upper and lower body injury announcements. But my guess is that it's a way to get 2 extra bodies into the main camp until the first cut down date.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 8:20 pmI was going through the Toronto Star archives from the 1970s the other day and was reminded just how transparent the Argos and other CFL teams used to be back then. I just hope there were no lingering effects from Hajrullahu's injury at Grey Cup (in spite of the fact he toughed it out like a pro).AngeloV wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 4:53 pmPro sports is now a world of paranoia. I hope there isn't anything particularly wrong with Franklin either -- he was the most improved player over the course of the 2024 season and is one of the key veterans in that secondary in light of some other departures.

Some dates for camp -- I probably won't be out in Guelph until the long weekend.
Re: 2025 Training Camp Thread
A few observations of today's training camp activities. Keep in mind that in the past I have been impressed with a particular player, only to have the player cut the next day. So--take my comments with a grain of salt.
.Kelly looked good today. Can't comment on his mobility but his passing looked just fine.
.At DB, Hood made a couple of impressive plays. He looked fast and reacted to the play quickly.
. It was difficult to judge the OL play, as they were not hitting at full speed all the time but Doxtater and Delance made some impressive blocking plays. Both played at OT a lot of the time.
.Turner impressed at WR. He caught the ball under pressure and looked to be quick out of his breaks. Slwka looked good and made one really good reception on the sideline while closely guarded by a DB. He hit a bench as he rolled out and appeared hurt for a moment but shrugged it off to get back in the play soon afterwards.
.Williams at DT looked like he has a burst to his play during the one on ones with the OL.
It would have been nice to see more of the drafted players on the field. Numbers 1, 2 and 3 players taken in the CFL were not present and both Global choices were not there. Perhaps we will see Ojo after his NFL mini camp wraps up.

I take this to mean that Kelly is a full participant?

Re: 2025 Training Camp Thread
For anyone going to camp, I have one request to watch Cameron Dukes play. I am wondering if he worked on his arm strength in the off-season, which is his biggest weakness IMO.
