Yeah, that was one of the worst attempts at a tackle I've ever seen. Dinwiddie has a right to be ticked.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2026 3:42 pmTheir punter should have made the tackle. The returner is running right along the sideline, all he had to do was make contact, get hands on him, throw his body in the way and he either goes out of bounds, goes down or slows his progress enough for help to arrive. It was embarrassing.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2026 12:19 pmDinwiddie hasn't stopped: https://3downnation.com/2026/07/07/if-t ... ed-tackle/ARGO57 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2026 4:29 pm Dinwiddie unloading on everyone but himself after Ottawa’s latest loss.

Punters are not tacklers per se, but some of them have been tough as nails in the past and looked to get their noses dirty...Noel Prefontaine comes to mind.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2026 5:04 pmYeah, that was one of the worst attempts at a tackle I've ever seen. Dinwiddie is in way over his head as HC, GM and OC. And now he's so tied to Maier that switching to MBT -- who almost certainly is better than Maier, even at (soon-to-be) 38 years old -- would make him look even more foolish than he already does. And they get to face Dru Brown next week, before what will undoubtedly be a small but furious crowd at home, followed by home to Mtl, at Sask, at Wpg and at Mtl. They're staring at the possibility of 0-and-10. What an absolute train wreck.

They should have given Bob Dyce one more year. The team seemed to be making progress, albeit gradually. Now it's all gone. They made a huge mistake bringing in Dinwidde. I feel bad for fans in Ottawa.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2026 8:20 am Dinwiddie is in way over his head as HC, GM and OC. I've probably written this before, but it is pretty funny going back into the "Dinwiddie goes to Ottawa" thread and seeing all the angst around here when he left the Argos. As a wise musician once said, time changes everything.

Re: Ottawa REDBLACKS
So far he probably hasn't been doing much GM'ing. Burke has probably handled the Lions share of that. BUT his handling of Dru Brown was botched. The fanbase was prepared to see what Brown could become under Dinwiddie's tutelage, and were comfortable having a guy like Maier around should injuries continue. He didn't and should not have scorched the Earth in Ottawa. Now if the record continues like this, the fanbase will be screaming for Burkes head and they'll get it. Now Dinwiddie will be wearing all hats and his ego will be writing cheques his body can't cash.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2026 8:20 am Dinwiddie is in way over his head as HC, GM and OC. He won two Grey Cups and had one of the best records of any Argos coach up until last year when he seemed to go right nuts. Of course people wouldn't be nervous to see him go. His contributions to the team were pretty significant.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2026 8:53 am I've probably written this before, but it is pretty funny going back into the "Dinwiddie goes to Ottawa" thread and seeing all the angst around here when he left the Argos. Ummm, no. Dyce had shown he was totally lost as a HC; might be a good ST coach though and a real nice guy the players like.
Dinwid might have been a good hire as just HC; maybe demand he hire an OC; and he has no business being a CFL GM. Seems like an ego-maniac. And his cry-baby act is not a good look.
Not sure how they get out of that train wreck now. And the crowds at home game will continue to dwindle I bet.
The paying fans in the seat support for the CFL in both Ontario and Alberta (EE & Stamps games look to have a few thousand customers) is real sad/pathetic - another train wreck - and the clowns in charge of the CFL are clueless.

Dinwiddie might have been a good hire, except for the fact that he's not. He's doing worse for the team's record and morale than Dyce did, barring some miraculous turnaround.OV Argo wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2026 11:24 amIssuesMcgee wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2026 8:51 amThey should have given Bob Dyce one more year.
