MBT was East Division all-star in 2022. He played pretty well for Edm in 2024 (24 TDs, 11 INT, 68%) but that was a sh!tshow with Jones getting fired after seven games, and Ford agitating to play. He had only one good game last season, but it was a doozy in Saskatchewan (20/26, 379, 3, 0) and a rare home loss for the Riders. He will turn 38 next month.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 8:34 pmAgreed. God Bless MBT, but when was the last productive season he had? With Toronto years ago? His ego could very well be writing cheques the Redblacks can't cash.

That one good game last year was when the Riders didn't have legitimate cornerbacks dressed. I just don't think MBT was a good fit with Maas, but should be much more comfortable with Dinwiddie.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 9:10 pmMBT was East Division all-star in 2022. Ryan Dinwiddie is playing 3D Chess when everyone else is playing checkers. The League is truly blessed to have his proven brilliance running the RedBlacks.
Re: Ottawa REDBLACKS
Davis Sanchez called it when he said Dru Brown wouldn't last in Ottawa.
Re: Ottawa REDBLACKS
Has his shot now to go with his guys - Maier & MBT - good luck with that. Doubt the RedBlacks have the budget or guts to fire Dinwid after an 0 & 8 or so start but maybe.
TSN radio post game after the Argo loss had some fans calling for Brown and wondering why he did not get in last game. He just wasn't RD's guy and who knows why.
I fear for real weak crowds in Ottawa the rest of this season - already way downhill this year.

The 2 QB moves this week in Ottawa has caught me by surprise. Wasn't this QB Room rated higher than Toronto's at the start of the season?
But as a comic in all seriousness, Winnipeg stands to get some high picks in the Amateur Draft as well. Brown always seemed to up his game when he played Toronto so I am glad he is in the Western Football Conference.

MBT. The man who sticks by his words, except when he doesn't.
I'll never forget his lectures on the importance of brotherhood all season long. Then he ghosted his team and his fans for the Grey Cup celebration. Then he wrote an open goodbye letter praising the CFL but basically saying he could never come back because family comes first. Then he returned a year later and blamed the league any time he lost.
The man is an artist when it comes to being unintentionally funny.

There was never a doubt that Dinwiddie didn't want Brown from the get go. I critiqued Brown a lot last year with all those back foot throws that got picked off, but that is something that is correctable. I get MBT had success with Dinwiddie, but that was 4 years ago. He turns 38 next week. He is not the same QB he was then. Dinwiddie is wearing too many hats in Ottawa, (GM, HC and OC). All in all, I don't think this is going to work out. Ottawa has the worst group of QB's in the league. Not good.

In a year where every other team is getting exceptional play from their QBs. In the other thread I posted on the top 10 passing yardage games in CFL history, not one is in the last 25 years. That could change soon. Rourke, Alexander, Mitchell, Kelly, Harris are all capable with the receiving corps available to them.AngeloV wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2026 1:04 pm There was never a doubt that Dinwiddie didn't want Brown from the get go. My fingers are crossed for Dinwiddie. I want to see him resurrect Ottawa and see Lansdowne full again. I hope MBT has gas left in the tank. He can throw the ball, I'm just not hopeful.
